Lions Mask - (Furniture Metal Glass Decoration)

Lion's Mask - (Furniture, Metal, Glass, Decoration) A decoration used by furniture makers from about 1720 to 1740 and again during the Regency Period. A favorite place to place them was on the knees of cabriole legs. This motif was also used by glassmakers, silversmiths, and metalworkers. Also called Lion Head.
