KPM - (Ceramics, Porcelain, German) Royal Porcelain Manufactory (Konigliche Porzellan Manufaktur) 1763 - 1919 and States Porcelain Manufactory (Staatliche Porzellan Manufaktur) Owned by the Prussian King Fredrick the Great. Their work rivaled the Meissen Factory. After 1919, the factory became the property of Berlin. In 1943, the factory was destroyed in the war by an air raid, but production continued in Selb and the factory was rebuilt after the war.
