Brass - (Metal) Glossary of Antique Terms B

Brass - (Metal) Alloy of copper with tin, zinc or other base metal. The proportions of zinc and copper can be varied to create a range of brasses with varying properties with bright
gold-like appearance. In comparison, BRONZE is principally an alloy of copper and tin.
Despite this distinction, some types of brasses and all ART brasses are called bronzes.
